Dual-core coming to VIA processors
digitimes got a tip from sources that VIA will launch dual-core processor by the end of 2009. I doubt that they will be able to ship dual-core processor by end of 2009. However dual-core processor from VIA is long overdue. Since 2004, I've been following dual core processors from Intel, AMD and VIA. Intel and AMD both came out with dual-, triple-, and quad-core processors but none from VIA. Hope VIA can finally catch up with multi-core processor war.
By the way, VIA did released dual processors (not dual-core) Mini-ITX board, DP-310, on 2005. I was planning to purchase one but ended up buying a AMD Athlon 64. A few months later when I had extra cash, I wasn't able to find one online. I wonder whether this board was ever successful or failure?
