I just spoke with Chris at DDRdrive, he said they are still very much alive, although he can't give me any details as to what they are developing. I let him know I'd love to see a DDR2/SATA 3gb/s/PCIe x4 solution. He said they are mainly aiming for corporate applications, but consumer level gear is a possibility down the road.
