RAM based SSD on Computex 2008

Pic from chinese.engadget.com

I was surprised to see RAM based SSD from ACARD when I stumbled on Engadget China blog. I was pretty sure ACARD 9011 was in deadpool. Now it supports 32GB/16GB and using regular DDR2 memory, not SO-DIMM. I don't expect to see this anytime soon. Gigabyte i-RAM2 promised the similar thing before but never delivered.

Gigabyte GO-RAMDiSK (aka i-RAM2) is there too. Probably still 4GB max and using DDR 1 memory. Note that price for 1GB DDR 400 is around $30~$40 while 2GB DDR2 is around the same. Also DDR2 memory requires less power.
