How to make indestructible USB thumb drive

It's been years since I picked up drills and taps. I wish I have drill sets right now so I can replace broken case for my Sandisk thumb drive.

Concept Design: Upgradeable USB Thumb Drive

I've been keep buying new USB thumb drive whenever the current thumb drive is full. The old one usually hangs around my desk for while and goes somewhere I can't find it. Here is a USB thumb drive design that could make use of the old thumb drive.
