Planning to get Gigabyte i-RAM?

There seems to be a faulty SATA emulation on i-RAM, so Linux will failed to detect it. There is SATA patch for it but don't even try it unless you're expert in Linux. I installed the Linux from source code once, I don't want to try it again. Wait for kernel with the patch or wait for i-RAM 2.

Performance is great but not that noticeable. And faster file IO requires faster CPU. I tried to open folder with over 17770 text files, my system (AMD64 3500+ single core) just hang for few seconds to process all the file informations. When I tried to open the folder in the 10,000RPM Raptor took about 10 seconds.

Overall, it's very cool but niche product.
