My Firefox Setting: Removing Tab Close Button

If you have a mouse with three or more buttons, you can close tab by clicking tab with middle button in Firefox. Therefore the close button on each tab is useless unless you want to close tab accidentally.

The steps to remove tab close button are

  1. Type about:config on the address bar
  2. Find browser.tabs.close
  3. Enter the new value
    • 0 - close button on the current tab only
    • 1 - close button on every tab
    • 2 - remove close button on every tab
    • 3 - close button on the right-hand side of the tab panel
